This was started by Eric Buell. This is today a Harley Davidson’s sister company, since Harley Davidson do not produce sporty image. Buell is the medium as it specialized in making sports bikes. Buell is currently offering three variants. They are Blast, Lightning and Firebolt. The Blast has a 429cc engine with carburetion achieved via a Keihin carburetor. The transmission is five speed gearbox which is capable of delivering 34bhp to the wheel. Both the front and rear is equipped with dick brakes. The XB9S or lightning XB9S is powered by 984cc, 92bhp engine offering a variable volumetric efficiency by varying the ram air intake. Firebolt XB9R uses the same engine as lightning is a real box of tricks, designed to grab the heart of youngsters.
Buell introduced its bolt series in 1999 which come with extraordinary power named as Thunderbolt S3. It has special functions on fuel injection systems. The new dynamic digital fuel injection is a single spark sequential port fuel injection system. Two fuel injectors mounted in the inlet manifold to deliver fuel when signaled by an electronic control module. Engine has 86hp power with 6000rpm and has 1203cc displacement.
The one and only sport bike maker Buell has never taken a conformist approach to motorcycle design, and the new Buell Firebolt is no exception. It is masterpiece of function and form and rather difficult to compare with any other motorcycle. This bike is no conventional sport bike, it isn’t a race replica either, in fact it isn’t an anything replica. Eric Buell calls the Firebolt a “sport fighter”. In fact it’s a fuel-injected 45-degree Milwaukee V-twin ingeniously shoehorned into a chassis with its dimensions resembling that of a 250cc racer. Its striking insect-like styling and ultra aggressive stance are pure modern sport-bike.
In 2003 Buell has launched a new bike based around a radical chassis design named Buell XB12S. The 2009 XB12Ss comes to European countries; a few horses have been sacrificed with fitment a more restrictive exhaust to meet the environmental regulations. This year all chassis parts and the 1203cc Thunderstorm engine have been given a black finish. It gives the bike a more modern look than the silver and bronzes of the previous year models which were starting to look dated. The XB’s big brother, the liquid cooled 1125r has lent the massive ZTL brake caliper. Obviously six brake pistons weren’t enough so we now have eight.
The Buell M2 Cyclone is one of the more funky versions of the Buell concept from the late 90s, but lacks the easygoing rideability of many Japanese four cylinder or European twin cylinder rivals. Buell Cyclones had a claimed 93bhp instead of 86bhp in their 1203cc cases. The Buell M2 Cyclone is a roadster motorcycle and as such has few luxury items. The brakes and suspension are decent pieces of kit and it has a good sized fuel tank that allows you a good touring range.
Buell 1125R is powered by the 1125 cc liquid-cooled 72-degree V-Twin Helicon engine generating 146 hp and 82 ft. lbs. of peak torque. New for 2009 on the 1125R model is targeted fuel injectors, relocated O2 sensors, and updated engine spark and fuel maps. The combination of these features offers improved drivability below 6000 rpm, even crisper throttle response, improved heat management, and significantly improved fuel economy. A high-output alternator has increased capacity for accessory use. The 1125R is restyled for 2009 with new blacked-out chassis components, and is offered in Midnight Black and new Racing Red with Phantom Metallic (Black) wheels, and Arctic White with Hero Blue translucent wheels.
Buell Motorcycle Company adds a new motorcycle to the street fighter category it dominates on 2005. The Buell Lightning City cross, a motorcycle bred to rule the mean streets. The Lightning CityX is our urban street fighter, a bike that’s especially suited for aggressive city riding. This is a bike for the rider who loves to dodge traffic, power away from lights and utilize the incredible agility of a sport motorcycle to charge through the asphalt jungle.
Buell is a branch of the Harley Davidson Company that makes sport bikes instead of squad car. The Buell blast is powered by single cylinder, 4-stroke, 492cc engine and it produced about 34 hp. The low power and the light weight of the Blast make it a good middleman between the Ninja 250 and the Ninja 500. Buell’s generally are hit or miss when it comes to reliability, and the blast is definitely no exception. Buell Blast is the best and pretty good motorcycle and can be very fun in the curves because of its nimbleness.
